Tanya Harrington
Manager, Workplace Health & Safety – The Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust (GMCT)
Tanya Harrington is a seasoned WHS leader with more than 20 years of experience supporting organisations to build safer, healthier, and more resilient workplaces. With a career spanning occupational health and safety, wellbeing, and industrial relations, she brings a grounded, people-centred approach to improving organisational culture and performance.
At GMCT, where she has worked for the past three years, Tanya leads initiatives that strengthen psychological health and safety, reduce risk, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Her work focuses on practical, evidence-based solutions that help leaders and teams navigate psychosocial hazards with confidence and care.
Tanya holds a Bachelor of Health, Safety and Environment and is a Professional Member of the Australian Institute of Health & Safety (AIHS). She is passionate about empowering people to thrive and creating workplaces where wellbeing is embedded in everyday practice.
Anna Torun
Manager, HR Strategy and Organisational Development – Sheriff’s Office Victoria
Anna Torun is a leadership coach and organisational development specialist with nearly two decades of experience shaping wellbeing strategy, psychological safety, and leadership capability across government and global sectors. With a foundation in organisational psychology and psychometrics, she supports leaders and teams to prevent psychological harm, manage psychosocial risks, and build environments where people perform sustainably and stay well.
Anna currently leads mental health and leadership development functions in state government, where she designed and implemented a system-wide Mental Health and Wellbeing Framework — now recognised as emerging best practice in psychosocial safety for frontline workforces. Her approach blends evidence-informed frameworks with practical tools leaders can apply immediately.
An ICF-accredited coach (ACC), and a member of both CIPD (UK) and the British Psychological Society (BPS), Anna brings a global perspective, cultural intelligence, and a pragmatic commitment to helping people and systems flourish.
Kate Simpson
General Manager, Strategic Advisory – Life Saving Victoria (LSV)
Kate Simpson is an experienced executive leader with more than sixteen years at Life Saving Victoria, where she has dedicated her career to advancing water safety, community wellbeing, and the capability of both staff and volunteers. With qualifications in Human Movement, Teaching, and an MBA — and as a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors — Kate brings deep expertise across sport, health, education, and governance.
Throughout her career, Kate has held a variety of operational, program development, and leadership roles, including Company Secretary. In her current position as General Manager – Strategic Advisory, she oversees governance, integrity, research and health promotion, and media and communications. She plays a critical role in shaping LSV’s strategic direction and strengthening its capacity to deliver on its mission of keeping Victorian communities safe.
Kate is passionate about fostering respectful, values-aligned cultures and building organisational systems that support psychological safety, performance, and community impact. She brings a balanced, thoughtful, and evidence-based perspective to leadership and culture transformation work.
