Andrew Wyman

Andrew is a highly experienced people and organisation development professional, passionate about helping people and organisations to improve and achieve optimal outcomes. He believes in the innate desire and power of people to adapt and do better. He knows that leadership, coaching, training, facilitation, and counselling can enable transformation.

Andrew has worked in or with over 80 organisations as a public-sector senior executive, senior Army officer, private-sector manager, small business owner, consultant, not-for-profit company director, and community volunteer. Andrew is an experienced senior leader, facilitator, coach, and counsellor. He is currently the leadership discipline lead in the Centre for Defence Leadership and Ethics (Australian Defence College), responsible for the development, implementation, and quality assurance of whole-of-Australian Defence Force leadership education and training. He has facilitated dozens of civilian and military organisations to clarify and enhance their operations through effective work planning. He provides personal coaching to people wanting to improve their leadership and management, and professional counselling to people experiencing mental health concerns.

In coaching and counselling, Andrew offers primarily solution-focused approaches to help clients see through the mental fog, develop and evaluate their own possible solutions, and determine and implement their own course of action. In leadership development, Andrew does not lecture, but rather facilitates discussion, self-reflection, and the realisation of leadership epiphanies. In organisational improvement, Andrew facilitates teams to express their purpose/mission, define and articulate their goals, objectives and tasks, refine their structure, and develop self-reporting tools, to deliver improved outcomes.
