Ian Rose is an accomplished actor, writer, coach and facilitator. His work is fuelled by a belief in the power of high-quality connections to build the best versions of individuals, teams and organisations.
Ian’s unique skillset marries the keen observation and behavioural insights that drive his work as a professional actor and writer with a passion for leadership development.
His work as a professional actor in the UK spanned two decades and included lead and featured roles in film and television (including Like It Is, Flyboys, Eastenders, London’s Burning, Casualty) and extensive work on stage.
At the same time, Ian was cutting his teeth as a corporate role player, creating realistic simulations of challenging conversations, and coaching around the behaviours that enable their effective management and positive resolution.
Since moving to Melbourne in 2007, Ian has built a reputation as a specialist in organisational development who delivers highly engaging, interactive and inspiring learning experiences, partnering with a diverse range of organisations, in Australia and overseas.
Ian’s area of expertise is in raising self-awareness to elevate communication skills and leadership capability. He brings a sharp intelligence and wit to the training room, along with an ability to read the needs of the individual and the group, and to build a safe environment in which stepping outside a comfort zone can be fun, as well as foster real and lasting growth.
Ian also works as a professional writer, contributing over a hundred features for The Age, Sydney Morning Herald, Guardian Australia and SBS. In 2019, Ian won a Writers’ Award with international magazine New Philosopher for his essay “Backwards Through Time”.
His BA with first class Joint Honours from the University of Manchester was followed by Post-Graduate studies in Performance at Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff, and Adult Education at International House, London. He holds a TAE Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment, has worked with a myriad of established models and diagnostics and is accredited in Emotional Intelligence tool EQi 2.0.
