He brings a sharp intelligence and wit to the training room, along with an ability to read the needs of the individual and the group, and to build a safe environment in which stepping outside a comfort zone can be fun, as well as foster real and lasting growth.

Ian also works as a professional writer, contributing over a hundred features for The Age, Sydney Morning Herald, Guardian Australia and SBS. In 2019, Ian won a Writers’ Award with international magazine New Philosopher for his essay “Backwards Through Time”.

His BA with first class Joint Honours from the University of Manchester was followed by Post-Graduate studies in Performance at Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff, and Adult Education at International House, London.
